Joe Faryean was born in Liberia, raised in both Ghana and the United States, and currently attends Michigan State University in East Lansing. He is studying Neuroscience, and studies cellular mechanisms of Guillain-Barre syndrome. Currently he is spending the summer in the Nelson Lab studying how chronic Parkinson's Disease treatment alters striatal physiology. In his free time, he enjoys movies (but not superhero movies), staring menacingly into the mirror, and admiring his reflection. He is the most humble member of the lab.
