Xuanting (Tina) Liu born and raised in Shenyang, China, where she studied very hard and developed an interest in clinical medicine. She came to the United States to study at the Ohio State University, where she majored in biology and discovered laboratory research. As an undergraduate she adopted two cats, Spencer and Holly, who fight non-stop, including during Zoom calls from her apartment. She came to UCSF to join the lab as a research assistant in 2025. She loves to cook and is already an expert making Spicy Hot Pot.
