Julia Lemak was born and raised in Sunnyvale, California, where she learned to juggle, enjoyed child-size microscopes, and took up cross-country and track. She graduated from UC Davis in 2020, where she ran on the cross-country team and developed her passion for neurodevelopment. She joined the Nelson lab in 2021 and is our local connoisseur of jelly beans. When not doing immunohistochemistry or mouse behavior, she is making her name in the Sac Bee, or time-transporting to the Library of Alexandria, where she reads the hottest hieroglyphic gossip.
