Pam Marcott

Pamela (Pam) Marcott grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she enjoyed math, volleyball, and softball. She attended Wake Forest for college, where she was drawn into biology via mathematical modeling. She double majored in Spanish and lived in Spain for a year, where she mastered flamenco dancing. She then attended Case Western Reserve for her MD/PhD training, where she learned slice electrophysiology and studied striatal dopamine signaling. She came to UCSF for her residency in Neurology and joined the Nelson lab in 2023 for her postdoctoral research. In her spare time she enjoys mountain biking, cooking, and cuddling with her two cats. She is currently studying sleep dysregulation in mouse models of Parkinson’s Disease.
